2024 Camry SE for $30k, worth it or wait?

I’ve been looking at a 2024 Camry SE, but I’m considering waiting for the redesigned Camry. A dealer offered me the SE base for $32k out the door. Do you think it’s a good deal, or should I wait?

Need a car? Go for it. If not, then wait.

Camrys are always a good buy because they last and are reliable. If you need a car now and can afford it comfortably, go for it. But if you don’t mind used, a slightly older Camry will still serve you well.

I just paid $27k for a 2024 SE. If they’re quoting you $30k, it should at least be an XLE.

It doesn’t even have keyless entry.

Isn’t that standard on all Camrys now?

@Wilkie
LE and SE gas models still use keyed ignition unless you get a package upgrade. All hybrids have push start as standard.

But we were talking about keyless entry for doors, not ignition.

@Wilkie
Yeah, I have a 2023 Corolla that needs a key for ignition, just like this Camry.

Yeah, lots of cars still need keys to start, but they usually have keyless entry for the doors. Weird they’re skimping on that.

Wait for the new model.

Any idea when they’ll be available?

How did you get yours for $27k? My dealer says there’s no way to get that price.

Base Camry SEs are listed around $27k. Many people talk about the selling price before taxes and fees. If your dealer’s charging you $3k in markups, you should probably find a different dealership.

@Magdalina
My biggest markup was a $1,500 ceramic coat. I walked out when they refused to remove it, but then they offered a discount to keep me. Learned from a car salesman that dealer add-ons are negotiable.

@Wilkie
“If it’s taxable, it’s negotiable.”

Try finding a high-volume dealer. They’re more focused on moving cars than squeezing out every dollar.

At least your battery won’t die like mine does on my Prius with all that keyless stuff.

What?

I got mine for $30.5k with the blackout package, trunk organizer, and net. It came with a 7-year/100k mile warranty and 3-year bumper-to-bumper coverage.

Which state did you get it in?

How’s the fuel mileage? I hear it’s really good on these cars.
