I recently bought a used Tundra (spec in title) with 5,000 miles on it. I’ve only driven it about 1,500 miles so far, and of that, about 80% has been around town (non-highway). I have my gauge set to MPG per tank, and it’s only getting like 10 MPG. I read on here somewhere that this improves after break-in, is that true? I’m not lead-footing it or anything and typically drive it in normal mode. I obviously didn’t buy this truck expecting great gas mileage, but damn, this is kind of ridiculous. I was thinking it would at least get as good as my Raptor used to, which was around 14 MPG. Should I expect this to get any better?
I have a 2024 1794 non-hybrid 4x4, and I get 14 MPG in the city and 16.5 MPG on the highway. 10 seems low if you’re not towing or driving up a lot of steep terrain.

Did you buy it new? If so, were you getting this mpg right from the start? I do live in kind of a hilly neighborhood, so maybe that’s it, but I would still think it should at least be as good as the Raptor was.
@Isle
Bought it with 4000 miles on it and it’s at 8500 now. Reset your fuel tracking and see how it calculates. When I first got in it on the test drive, it said 12.3 MPG.

I’ll give that a shot. I’ll also switch it from MPG per tank to just overall average. Thanks.
@Isle
MPG per tank is fine. Yes, mileage will increase a little more til 10K mi. Run in ECO mode all the time. Keep your foot out of the turbos and below 2K rpm. '23 Lim TRDOR stock tires no lift Avg 17/22. Best was 23 over a 1200 mi trip. 15 is worst in hilly So Cal with traffic signals every 1/8th of a mile and crap CA gas. Did much better in WA.
I get almost exactly what the sticker says.

Same here. 2024 non-hybrid. I think it’s rated at 19/23 MPG, and I probably get 18/22. Even in 4WD on snowy roads, with a snowmobile in the bed, I get like 15-17 MPG cruising along at 40 MPH. And 12-13 MPG when I’m towing my 6k lb boat+trailer up and down the Appalachian mountains. I can’t imagine how hard I’d need to drive it to come out with a 10 MPG average. OP, there might be something wrong with your truck or the gauge.
Does it have OEM suspension and tires? Do you live somewhere with a lot of hills? Do you drive aggressively? All of these things will impact your mileage significantly, but even 10 seems really low.
