Why hasn’t Toyota updated the Sienna’s safety system? They’ve released TSS 2.5, 2.5+, and 3.0, but the Sienna is still on 2.0. Anyone know why?
Probably because they have long waitlists, so they know they’ll sell them no matter what. Keeps the profit margin high.
I talked to someone from Toyota’s development team, and they mentioned that the Sienna’s current electrical platform can’t handle a newer safety suite. They’re working on a new platform, but it’s not expected until around 2027. TSS 2.0 isn’t bad—I had it in my 2020 Corolla, and it was almost as good as TSS 2.5+ in my 2023 Venza. TSS 3.0 is supposedly better but can be a bit annoying with all the beeps.
That’s why I went with the 2025 Camry. TSS 3.0 is awesome.

Not sure there’s much overlap between Sienna and Camry shoppers.

Is the Lamborghini Urus a good buy? Or maybe just get roller skates?
I wonder if there’s a way to install TSS 3.0 from another model?

Short answer: absolutely not. Get it in writing if anyone says otherwise.

I think TSS 3.0 requires new hardware and sensors, not just a software update.
