2026 Toyota RAV4 might go hybrid-only... thoughts?

So I just read that the 2026 Toyota RAV4 might only come in hybrid versions. It’s getting a blockier design too, which looks kinda cool from the spy shots. What do you all think about Toyota going hybrid-only for their bestseller?

Hybrid-only sounds like a bold move, but it makes sense with how popular the RAV4 Hybrid has been. I wonder if the performance will be better than the current model.

Yeah, they’re probably using the same setup as the new Camry hybrid. That one’s got 232 hp with AWD, so it should be solid.

Wait, what’s AWD?

@Marsden
Oh, it’s all-wheel drive. Basically, power goes to all four wheels instead of just two. Better for handling and stuff.

I’m more excited about the design changes. The blockier front end and squared-off profile look way better than the current one, IMO.

Same! The vertical D-pillar should give it more cargo space too. Practical and stylish.

Do we know if they’re keeping the plug-in hybrid option? I’ve been eyeing the RAV4 Prime, but it’s hard to find.

The article says there might be a plug-in hybrid version, but it might not launch at the same time as the regular hybrid. Fingers crossed though!

I’m just hoping the price stays reasonable. Starting in the low $30k range sounds good, but hybrids can get pricey with options.

True, but with gas prices these days, the savings might balance it out over time.

Anyone else think the new design looks a bit like the Crown Signia? The front end especially.

Totally! The thin LED light bar and the grille placement are super similar. Toyota’s definitely borrowing some cues there.
