I took my car into Jiffy Lube for an oil change and the tech said that I have a transmission leak, my wife said it smelled like it was burning oil a couple days back.
Now I’m at 123K miles and don’t know much, how much does it cost to get the leak repaired? It shifts perfect and other than the ‘leak’ I don’t feel like anything is different from when I first got the vehicle new in 2020.
We cannot help you without knowing what fluid is leaking, CVT, or Diff, and where it is coming from. Some areas have leaks that are repairable, and others require a CVT replacement.
Crawl under it and take some pictures
I wouldn’t trust Jiffy Lube, get it checked out by a Subaru person. Near the trans is the diff, and engine, could be any of those leaking.
That’s your first mistake. Jiffy Lube.
I had a very slow leak on my CVT pan where a tiny amount was oozing out around the seal. I think it was around $600 for the dealer to remove the pan, reseal it and replace the CVT fluid.
However, a leak there would probably just drip onto the ground and not get burned. Mine never got to the point of actually dripping.
