A Lexus SUV as comfortable as a RAV4?

The Corolla Cross is comfy and easy to get in and out of. I use blindspot mirrors since quick neck movements are tough.

Quick neck movements are hard for me too. I think the Corolla Cross is smaller than a RAV4, though.

The RX350 is similar in size to the RAV4 and the Venza.

Wtf, I wasn’t even on this post when I commented.

The NX is closest to the RAV4, while the RX matches the Highlander. I just traded my 2017 RAV4 Hybrid for an NX350h. The NX feels smoother, quieter, and more refined inside, though it’s smaller in cargo space. For me, the comfort upgrade was worth it.

@Spencer
If you’re looking for something a bit nicer, a pre-owned Venza or Crown Signia might be worth considering.

We’re leaning toward that direction, but I still want to look at Lexus. We’ve never had a higher-end car before, and I think I’d really value the comfort. If the Venza or Crown Signia can offer that, I’d be happy.

@Spencer
Edit: My kids are grown, so extra cargo space is nice but not crucial. I appreciate your perspective on the NX—very helpful!

The cargo figures you’re using might be outdated. The 2025 NX has 22.7/46.9 cu ft compared to older numbers. The RAV4’s current figures are 37/70 cu ft, which is significantly more than the NX. The RAV4 still offers much more cargo room than even the RX due to its shape.

If my RAV4 got totaled, I’d go for an NX400h. It’s a bit shorter, but so quiet inside and has the same mpg as my hybrid with more horsepower.

The RX is most similar in size to the RAV4. The NX is slightly smaller.

The NX is actually a little bigger than the RAV4 and uses the same platform. The RX is closer in size to the Highlander.

@laura
The NX feels smaller inside. The sloping roofline and cargo door make the space feel tighter compared to the RAV4.

It might feel smaller, but in terms of dimensions it’s actually bigger.

I agree. The NX felt cramped to me. If I had to pick between the two, I’d go with the RAV4 Hybrid. If you can afford it, the RX is a worthwhile upgrade.

@Ciel
I’m open to the RX, but I’m not sure I can justify spending that much.

If you want a more comfortable ride, consider a North American brand. Ford or Lincoln SUVs have a smoother feel. If you’re sticking with Toyota, the NX is similar to the RAV4 and the RX is larger. Highlander is also a good choice. Test drive a few and see what works for you. Best of luck.

@YukiJane
Thanks for the advice.

@YukiJane
I own both an RX450h and a GX. Both are very comfortable, though the RX is smoother.
