I just paid off $20k of my loan yesterday, only $10k left! I’m planning to refinance that last $10k with my other credit union, and my payment will only be $147 a month for 72 months—less than a phone bill. My goal is to pay it off in a year anyway… (Just so you know, I’ve only had this car since June this year) I’ve been really putting in the effort!
Congratulations! It’s great to see some financial responsibility here!

Thank you, brother! 🏻
Congrats, man! That’s awesome.
Go for it, bro!!
Good for you! Smarter than me!
I can still save 15% each month while doing this, but I just bought a GRC to go with my 50% paid off Camry! I wanted a manual sports car since I’ve been feeling down, so I thought, why not? Don’t do what I did, though! Haha, I can afford it, but sometimes I wonder if I really needed a sports car? Of course I do! It makes me happy!
@Tobin
I feel you, I’m doing something similar, except I’m aiming for an F80 M3. Being a car enthusiast in my 20s without a sports car is tough. Luckily, I’m paying off my Camry early and will put a big down payment on the M3. But I’m also contributing to my Roth IRA and my employer-matched retirement plan, so it’s not all bad!
@Derry
I think of this as a bad financial move since cars lose value, and I could invest my payments instead… but I’m still putting away 11% of my salary towards my 401k, plus saving 15%. It feels weird, but sometimes I have to treat myself, right?
@Tobin
It’s definitely not the smartest move, but there comes a point where you can make it work. Personally, I’m not too worried about depreciation since F80 M3s seem to be stabilizing in value. As long as you’re still saving for retirement and can manage the car payment plus insurance, you’ll be fine. I can’t wait to be in my 30s and 40s to fully enjoy my car hobby. I’ve loved cars since I was a kid, and now that I can afford a sports car, I’m going for it!
Congratulations! I have $14,695.88 left on my '22, with a base payment of $575, but I pay $600. I can’t WAIT to pay it off… in 2 more years

2.92% is pretty good, though! You might as well ride it out and save some money at a higher rate.
13% APR TRD Pro buyers with tinted windows and blacked-out tail lights are not happy about this . Congrats, brother, keep it up!

Thanks, bro!
It’s refreshing to see this when so many posts show huge loans.
Well done! Did you make a big down payment?

I had positive equity on my trade-in, so it came out to $31,000. I just put down $20,000 yesterday, which is pretty big!
Great job! You’re a financial beast!

Lmao!
How is your phone bill over $147 a month?
