Any of you got car-loving neighbors or is it just me…?

Was just thinking how lucky I am to live near some folks who really love their cars. Makes for fun conversations and some cool driveway shows. Just wondering if anyone else has gearhead neighbors they actually like talking to?

My neighbor has a sweet Nova, but he’s a drunk mess and always screaming at his tweaker wife out front, so we keep our distance.

What kind of stuff does she throw at him? Bricks or dishes?

@Jean
Probably meth rocks. Keeps her hands busy once she starts tweaking.

Yes and no… We all like cars, but totally different kinds.

North neighbor loves old American stuff from before the 70s.

South neighbor is all about post-90s Dodges.

I’m stuck on Audi/Volkswagen stuff from the 80s and up.

@Perry
You said VAG, lol.

@Perry
You got any cars with a V5 engine?

Sort of… the 16-year-old next door has a pretty clean Audi A4. Yesterday he drag raced another kid in an old Dodge Caravan past my house. It was weirdly close. I realized I’m old now because I grabbed my Ring video and showed his mom when she got home.

@Nuri
Lololololol!

My neighbor hates me for firing up my loud Legacy GT at 5:30am every day before work.

I wish. Coolest thing around is my SVX, then my Spec B, then my roommate’s VA WRX. After that, there’s a 4th-gen Eclipse down the road, but it’s not even close. Rest is just boring SUVs and trucks.

Always had a soft spot for those Hawkeye hatchbacks.

What kind of Subie is that?

That’s a 2005–2007 WRX Hatchback, called the Hawkeye.

It’s rocking STi BBS wheels too, must’ve upgraded the hubs to fit them.

@Ann
Or they’re from an ’04 STi — those were 5x100 too, which matches this setup.

Good call. Some 2006/2007 ones came with those too, though most had Enkei versions. BBS must’ve made two types.

In the U.S., Hawkeyes were only 06/07. I had an 05 wagon and that was still a Blobeye.

@Dalen
Ah, yeah you’re right. I always forget those 2nd gen Imprezas got a new look every two years.
