Toyota wants $400-600 just to ‘recalibrate’ the TSS sensor after a suspension lift. I tried tilting the sensor down with washers but no luck. And of course, there’s no way to clear the dash error either.
Haha yep, light pops in and out. I’ve got a 2” leveling kit on my 2020.

No offense, but I can’t stand all this tech stuff.

None taken. Honestly, I’d rip it all out if I could… but there’s no good way to disable everything without the dash lighting up like a Christmas tree.
@robertson
Totally get that. Still a great truck though. What drove me nuts was when the front sensor froze and the vehicle went into limp mode. Brutal.

Thanks. I got the 2020 for the adaptive cruise—great for long freeway drives. But then I got into overlanding and now this system is a hassle . Just wish it would stop yelling at me every time I start the truck.
@Marcell
Can’t say for sure, but I heard you can stick the TPMS in a sealed PVC pipe with a valve stem, air it up, and trick the system.

Yeah, like Ripcord’s Spruce Mica build on the forum.

I looked specifically for pre-2020 models to avoid this exact thing. The tech might be nice, but it’s a pain if you do your own wrenching.
Same issue here on my lifted 2020 (no traction control though). Two dealers wouldn’t touch it. Oddly, it goes away when it rains… or when I have bikes on the hitch rack. Thinking about lifting the front just a bit to see if that helps.
@Brooke
That’s wild—I figured pointing the nose down would help. Might hit the sensor with a good cleaning just to see if anything changes

Can’t hurt to try. I sprayed the sensor with water and drove around but no luck. Might be something about the ground reflection when it’s wet that throws it off.
@Brooke
Funny enough, mine only acts up when it rains maybe everything flipped on me now.
That’s odd. I’ve done suspension mods and haven’t had this happen. What exactly did you change?

I’m at 2.75" front, ~3" rear on 34s. I think it’s just high enough that the sensor doesn’t see the road properly. Might also be the windshield sensor. Dealer quoted $400 to fix but I’m trying the DIY tilt trick first.
@robertson
Weird. I’m on similar numbers but running 33s. Let me know what you find—I’ve been thinking about jumping to 34s.

Trying some forum hacks first. I’ll post back once I (hopefully) find a fix this week.
@robertson
Appreciate it—good luck!
