Just saw that Subaru is recalling over 20,000 2025 Foresters because of a wheel issue. Apparently, some of them have the wrong lug seat surface spec, which can mess with how the wheel mounts and might even cause stability problems. Subaru says they caught it on the assembly line, and they’ll inspect and replace the wheels for free if needed. Owners will start getting recall notices by mail on Mar. 24. If you’ve got one, you can also check Subaru’s recall page or call customer service. Kinda crazy for a brand-new model, huh?
Wow, that’s a big recall for a new release. Does this mean the wheels could fall off or just that they don’t mount right?

Not sure if they’d straight-up fall off, but the NHTSA says it can mess with stability while driving, so still risky.
@StellarToyota
Gotcha. So it’s more like the wheels might not be properly secured and that could affect handling?
Subaru’s fixing it for free, right? Wonder how long it’ll take to get new wheels if they need replacing.

Yeah, they’ll inspect and replace them for free if needed. No clue how fast they’ll get it done tho.
This recall only affects the 18-inch alloy wheels, right?

Yep, only the 18-inch ones. If your Forester has different wheels, you’re good.
I bought a 2025 Forester… how do I check if mine is affected?

Subaru will mail out recall notices starting Mar. 24, but you can also check their recall page or call customer service at 1-844-373-6614.
Wait, what’s a ‘lug seat surface spec’?

It’s basically the part of the wheel where the lug nuts sit. If it’s the wrong shape or size, the wheel might not attach properly.

So like, if the lugs don’t sit right, the wheel might not be fully secured? Sounds kinda serious.
