Anyone know what this part is from?

Looks kind of like a chunk from the shift fork setup. I could be wrong, but usually finding metal like this in your transmission isn’t a good sign.

Nah, that’s actually part of the speed sensor setup.

Yeah that tracks… the clutch fork is loose and I can’t get it in or out of 1st gear.

Pretty sure that’s from a busted speed sensor.

My car did something like that too, though I still had neutral. Fingers crossed that chunk was already in there when you got it…

It was, yeah. I bought the car as a project to build into a rallycross rig.

@Unclewaffl3s
I was actually talking about that bit of metal on the drain bolt… but I guess now both came with the deal.

Yeah, I wish. It was stuck to the drain plug when I pulled it out.

That’s a magnetic drain plug for the differential. Not sure what the other piece is though.

You didn’t read the post at all lol

You’re right, I just saw the picture and focused on the plug. Should’ve actually read the full post first. Now that I have, that chunk looks like a tab from the 1st/2nd shift fork based on the symptoms. Thanks for calling that out. Happens more often than I’d like to admit.

Nope, definitely not that.
