Anyone tried disabling the auto start/stop on their Forester?

I bought one from Amazon. It works most of the time, like 85%, but it’s still a big improvement.

That doesn’t sound right. You should get it replaced.

Yeah, but I’m too lazy to bother.

You don’t really need a device. Just don’t press the brake too hard, and it won’t engage.

Exactly. I don’t see why people need an extra gadget for this.

Or just push the button when you start the car. Seems like a waste of money to me.

@Colby
People love buying stuff they don’t need.

I’ve had one for about six months and it’s been flawless.

You mean this exact one from Amazon? Just checking.

Great, thanks for confirming!

Will this work on the 2024 Forester?

Not sure about the ‘24s. Mine’s a 2023.

Yes, it works.

To keep start/stop off, you just need the button to stay pressed. Simple.

Tried that on my 2019. It needs to detect the press and release to disable it. I rigged up a Raspberry Pi and relay to mimic this. Cost me $10, and I can always remove it later.
