Hitachi coils are cheaper than Denso and NGK and are even OEM in some vehicles. But I’ve seen online that they’re made in China. Some forums mention they were made in Japan, but I can’t confirm this. I looked it up and found multiple sources saying they are made in China. What do you guys think?
Not sure about Denso or NGK being made in China, but if they’re for Toyotas, they’ll still meet Toyota’s quality standards. I always stick to Toyota OEM parts for my engine, no matter where they’re made.
@Blend
I’m not talking about Denso or NGK though.

Sorry, I misunderstood the post. Been a long day.
Stick to NGK or Denso if you have a Toyota. They supply parts directly to Toyota, and Toyota even owns part of Denso. Everything else doesn’t perform as well or might cause issues.

Denso is like the ACDelco of Japan, but a step up. NGK is great too. Just avoid anything not made in Japan or the USA.
@Nye
This is stressing me out big time.
I’m done buying stuff from Japan.
Wait, that’s not what I meant. Denso is way better than ACDelco! Where’s this logic coming from?

Maybe just avoid Hitachi stuff made in China? Honestly, they’re probably fine. I work on cars, and my dad’s Leaf has some parts made in China by Yazaki, which Toyota owns too.
@Nye
Is your dad into eco stuff or what?

I’ve got 7 Denso coils and 1 $90 coil from Advanced Auto on my Tundra. All work fine so far.

The coils in my car are Delphi, and I think they might be OEM.
@Fife
Toyota uses Delphi for fuel systems, but not ignition coils.

By the way, my car isn’t exactly new.

Mine isn’t either, so we’re in the same boat.
@Nash
So does that mean all Delphi parts are OEM?

Not really. Fuel pumps are usually Delphi. Ignition parts are Denso or NGK. Most electronics are Denso, and drivetrain parts are made by Aisin.
I only use NGK or Denso myself. By the way, Hitachi parts are made in both China and Japan.
