Are the 2020+ models really holding up or not

@TacomaTales
Yeah, it wasn’t covered by warranty. Now people avoid updates because they don’t want the same thing to happen.

That’s wild… do newer models still have this problem?

@TacomaTales
Not sure, there’s not much info out yet.

Had my 2020 for almost 5 years now. The only problems I’ve had are the windshield (on my third one) and the auto start/stop, which sometimes fails, so I just turn it off in traffic.

No issues with my 2022 so far, and I’ve got 33k miles on it.

Subaru makes solid cars. If you liked the Forester better than the RAV4, go for it.

The only issue we’ve had with our 2020 Forester (almost at 30k miles) is a battery failure, but nothing major.

I just traded my 2019 Sport for a 2025 Sport. The only problems I had were a broken windshield and a torn driver’s seat. Then I got the warranty notice for the TCV, and that pushed me to trade it in. Other than that, it was fine.

My 2020 Forester Touring has 74,000 miles on it. Only issue was replacing the TCV, but otherwise, it’s been a great car. Handles well, fun to drive, and reliable.
