For those who have a front plate, any good recommendations for drill-free plate holders that aren’t too expensive? I really don’t want to drill into the bumper. Any suggestions?
Missionary style.
I just keep mine in the trunk. Never been a problem for me in Minnesota.
I keep mine wedged in the passenger-side dash behind the windshield. Not sure if it’s legal, but no issues so far.

I see people do that, but I’d rather not risk getting pulled over.
@Johnstone
Depends on your state. I’ve done it for years in Colorado and Wyoming without any problems.
@Johnstone
Cops won’t pull you over for it. But if they stop you for something else, they might bring it up.
@Johnstone
Not the safest idea. In an accident, it could become a projectile and injure your passenger.
I use a suction cup mount on the windshield, with a silicone frame. Works fine for me.
@Ashwin
Not sure if New York allows plates inside the windshield.

I used to live near NYC and never got any hassle. You might be fine.
Toyota sells a plate bracket for around $15.
Yeah, but the dealership will drill it into the bumper, which I want to avoid.
I lived in NJ, CT, and NY for years and never had an issue without a front plate. Now I’m in PA where they’re not required. You might be able to skip it unless you’re set on mounting it.
My 2025 model came with a front plate frame designed for the car, but my state doesn’t require it, so I never mounted it.
Depends on the year. My 2025 has a frame and small dimples on the bumper showing where to mount it.

I’m looking at a 2025 XSE, but I didn’t notice any dimples on the front bumper.
You could take it back to the dealership and ask them to install it for free. That’s what I did.
@Magdalina
Looks nice, but $98 is steep for a plate holder.
