Can a 6th gen Limited trim handle off-roading?

@Porter
The fancy features help, but honestly, knowing how to pick your line and keep momentum is more important.

I’ve seen stock F-150s make it farther than lifted rigs with every gadget. Tires, a small lift, and some armor go a long way.

My advice: take your 4Runner on the trails you plan to use. You’ll quickly figure out what you actually need.

Even a Limited can do a lot off-road. Crawl control is nice, but not critical. Momentum and smart driving win most of the time.

@Austin
I’m definitely going to get out there and try it. Been watching lots of videos and hearing the same advice. Just need decent tires and maybe a skid plate, and I’ll go from there :sweat_smile:

Take your 4Runner out stock and see how it does where you plan to use it. You’ll learn fast what works and what doesn’t.

Honestly, 4Runners are solid out of the box. There are trails that need more clearance or better tires, sure, but most owners figure that out from experience.

A small lift and good tires make a huge difference, but even stock, you’ll be surprised what it can handle.

@Austin
Yeah, I’m realizing all-terrain tires are probably the main thing I need. Once I ditch that front chin piece, I’ll have decent clearance too.

To be fair, my first thought of ‘off-road’ was Moab… lol

@Porter
And a stock 4Runner can actually do a lot in Moab. They’re more capable than most people think.

That’s good to hear. Just gotta be careful and avoid expensive mistakes out there :sweat_smile:
