Can I stop this annoying message from showing up?

This message keeps popping up right after I put the car in drive (or reverse). It beeps and grabs my attention, just as I’m pulling out of my parking spot or driveway. I live in Vermont and I already know it’s cold. I find this really distracting and it happens every time. Is there any way to disable it?

You might just need to drive somewhere warmer for it to stop.

Watching all those Toyota cars migrating south for the winter is kind of funny.

Definitely the way to go.

I hate this so much. I’m in the Northern Plains, and it was -6 when I left home. My pickup constantly reminds me how cold it is from November to April with this annoying beep.

It’s even worse when you’re trying to move or back up without hitting anything, and it starts beeping.

Oh, sorry, I just realised I’m in the Sienna sub (I have a 22 Sienna and a 24 Tundra). Still applies.

Maybe just drive south until it stops :joy:. Joking, but I get why it’s annoying. I know one way to temporarily get rid of it is by pressing the back arrow on the steering wheel.

I’m on the Gulf Coast, and this message has been showing up all week. You’ll have to drive pretty far south to avoid it :palm_tree:. I agree with your solution, it is so annoying.

It’s hilarious when I’m driving through a foot of snow and ice in Canada, and this message shows up. Thanks Toyota, I totally needed the reminder.

Haha, exactly! My driveway has been covered in snow since November.

Haha, you really nailed it with that comment.

It’s so frustrating when I start backing up in -20 weather, and the car dings. I panic for a second, then realise it’s just this message. Like, no kidding.

Totally agree, I hate that sound too.

The curved arrow icon on the top right of your display matches a button on the left side of your steering wheel. That’s your back button. If you press it, the message should disappear. You can also silence other beeps with this button, but not all of them.

Isn’t it nice that Toyota cares so much about our safety? If it wasn’t constantly beeping about everything, we wouldn’t know they cared…:joy:

I joked with my kids about the constant beeping. They went on saying things like ‘ding, your fly is open; ding, please blow your nose.’ But honestly, it’s annoying. Especially when it dings just because I opened the driver’s side door before turning the van off. The car is already off! I’ve figured out that I can press the rubber ‘button’ to stop it, but it’s a nuisance.

@Harper
I feel you on the driver side door alert. It’s so annoying. Stop telling me how to live my life, you’re just a car! Good to know about the rubber ‘button’ though :ok_hand:.

It’s funny how Toyota has so many beeps, but they don’t have one for the blindspot monitor when you put on your turn signal with cars in your blindspot. That would actually be useful.

I’ve seen this posted a few times here. Unfortunately, you can’t turn it off. Looks like it’s a legal thing, haha.
