Did I mess up using the wrong gas for my Camry since last July?

You’re fine. Just don’t use E85. Your gas cap has that warning for a reason.

The warning is mainly for states that allow more than 15% ethanol. Your Camry isn’t built for flex fuel.

Wish it was. The high compression would make E85 great in this car.

87 refers to the octane level, which affects how much pressure is needed for combustion. Using low octane in a high-compression engine can cause pre-ignition (bad).

E15 means up to 15% ethanol, which is fine for your car but more than that could damage the fuel system.

Modern cars have been handling ethanol blends for years. Nothing to worry about.

Most gas has up to 10% ethanol (E10). Anything labeled E15 or E85 has more ethanol. Pure gas with no ethanol gives better mileage but is harder to find.

E85 is basically race fuel. You’d know if you were using the wrong stuff.

If it was the wrong fuel, your check engine light would’ve come on.
