I’ve been trying to get some parts for my 1983 TT141 Toyota Corona, but I’m finding that a lot of the parts available are listed for ST141 models.
The body of my car looks quite similar to the ST141, so I’m wondering if most of the parts are interchangeable. Can anyone clarify the differences between the ST141 and TT141 models?
Sorry if this is a basic question, but I haven’t found much info online and I want to make sure I’m getting the right parts before making a purchase. Thanks for any help.
The Toyota Corona ST141 and TT141 are both models from the 7th generation Corona lineup, produced in the early 1980s. Though they share similarities, they differ mainly in terms of engine and drivetrain configurations:
Engine Type
ST141: This model typically came with a 1.8-liter 3T engine, a carbureted inline-4, which was known for its reliability and decent fuel economy.
TT141: The TT141 model was equipped with a larger 1.8-liter 13T-U or a 2.0-liter 18R-G engine, offering more power and performance. The 18R-G variant, in particular, was a twin-cam engine, making it more performance-oriented.
*Drivetrain:
ST141: Generally featured a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) setup, which was common for most vehicles of that era.
TT141: Also had a rear-wheel-drive configuration, but due to the more powerful engines, it offered better acceleration and handling characteristics compared to the ST141.
Market Variants:
Both models were marketed differently depending on the region. For example, the TT141 was often marketed as a higher-end model with more features and better performance due to its engine options.
