Do you have neighbors who are into cars?

I live in a neighborhood where people really love their cars. It’s great to see different models and hear the engines. Anyone else have neighbors like this?

My neighbor owns a cool Nova, but he and his wife often argue loudly outside. So, we keep our distance.

Do they throw things at each other during the arguments?

Yes and no. My neighbor to the north loves old American cars from before the 70s. The one to the south is all about Dodge cars from the 90s onwards. I prefer 80s and newer VAG cars.

VAG, haha.

Do you have any cars with a V5 engine?

I wish. The most interesting car on my street is my SVX, followed by my Spec B and my roommate’s VA WRX. There’s also a 4th gen Mitsubishi Eclipse down the street, but it’s not as exciting. Mostly, there are SUVs and pickups around here.

My neighbor isn’t happy when I start my loud Legacy GT at 5:30 in the morning to go to work.

Kind of. My 16-year-old neighbor has a nicely modified Audi A4. Yesterday, he raced another 16-year-old in an old Dodge Caravan past my house. It was surprisingly close. I realized I’m getting old because I took the video from my doorbell camera to show his mom when she got home.

@Kenan
That’s hilarious!

I’ve always liked those hatchback Hawkeyes.

What model Subaru is that?

It’s a 2005–2007 Impreza WRX Hatchback, often called the ‘Hawkeye’.

It has STi BBS wheels and probably a hub upgrade to fit them.

@Marriot
Or they could be '04 STi wheels, which were 5x100, matching the lug pattern here.

Good point. Some 2006/2007 models had 114.3 patterns, so BBS must have made two versions.

For US models, only 2006/2007 had that style. I had an '05 wagon, which was a Blobeye.

Yes. My dad got me into cars. At home, we have three old Fords—a Mustang, an F-150, and an F-100—and an old Civic. A neighbor up the hill has a late-50s Bel Air in yellow and white, and a Geo Metro Convertible. Another nearby house has a red 1955 GMC 100 and a '78 El Camino.
