I put down a deposit a few days ago for a GHHL. The dealer sent me some paperwork to confirm my reservation, and at the bottom, it says ‘New build 12/19.’ Does this mean my car will be built on that date?
If you figure this out, let us know. I just ordered a GHH too.

Did your dealer give you anything like this? I’d like to compare what yours says.

No, I didn’t get anything like that. They gave me a copy of the form they submitted with my preferences. They said it’ll take at least 15 weeks, and they’ll let me know a month before it arrives. From what I understand, Toyota dealers don’t request specific builds but can ask for certain configurations or trade with other dealerships.
@Keagan
Got it. So it sounds like you don’t have a specific car reserved yet. Mine is fully reserved, and I’m getting the exact car I mentioned.

I think so. They gave me a VIN but not the paperwork you’re talking about.
@Keagan
Interesting. What are the 12th and 13th digits of your VIN? Mine are 36. My dealer said it’ll likely be built in January.

Mine are 38. Does that mean anything specific?
@Keagan
Some people say the 12th and 13th digits show the build week of the year, so mine would be around September. But since Toyota paused production for a chunk of 2024, they’re reusing temporary VINs. For 2025 models, lower numbers usually mean they’ll be built sooner, but it’s not always exact.
@Teegan
Good to know! Thanks for explaining. I’ll check back with my dealer at the end of the month for an update.
@Teegan
I’ve got 37, and my dealer told me my build date is 12/16.

That’s interesting. Does that mean my 12/19 date is accurate? Or could my car get built before yours?
@Teegan
Maybe your date is correct, but sometimes these dates shift based on production schedules. You might want to double-check with your dealer closer to the time.
