@Brett
I was considering the Camry too, but a mechanic I know said Lexus would be safer. But I heard they share the same platform? What’s different?

I believe the Lexus has more advanced safety systems compared to the Toyota version. Don’t quote me on that, but it’s worth looking into the differences between the Camry and ES and possibly exclude the IS since it might cost more for performance reasons.

So we’re comparing the IS350 to the ES350 at the same price, right? Currently, the ES has a V6 while the IS is a turbo 4.
There are no V4 engines.
@DukeJames4
V4s don’t exist in vehicles, though they are real.
The ES should be safer because it’s built on a newer platform.
The IS, despite its 2020 update, has an older platform.
While I enjoy the IS as a fun car, it hasn’t met the latest safety standards in Australia, leading to its withdrawal from the market. [Link to article]
Testing by the IIHS showed that the Lexus IS was a top pick based on 2017 evaluations. However, it had lower leg injury scores compared to the ES from tests conducted between 2017-2019.
Just wait for someone to correct about the IS300 having an inline-4 instead of a V4.
