Got my one year old OB a birthday gift… What do you think

17" Sparco Terras in bronze with Falken Wildpeak AT Trails 225/65/R17s. I was really into the LP Adventures LP1s, but I wanted to either match or do better than the stock wheel/tire weight, which is around 50 lbs depending on your source. The Sparcos were a bit lighter and way cheaper for me.

@Violet
Just got the same tires for my S10 but haven’t driven it much yet. How are the tires holding up for you?

I really like them. Going for a smaller wheel with taller sidewalls made the ride much smoother. They grip well in the rain and I don’t notice any extra noise. That might change as they wear out, though.

@Violet
Where did you purchase those?

How has the mileage, noise levels, and overall ride comfort been compared to the stock rims and tires?

I don’t really track mileage. My commute is short and I often idle the car to warm it up, which isn’t great for the engine in the long run. Noise is about the same or maybe even better. These tires sound more like regular all-seasons than off-road tires. The ride is smoother, especially over bumps like potholes and train tracks. Less impact reaches the cabin, making it less jarring. Overall, it feels softer, which is nice. Handling is at least as good as stock, and I feel way more confident in wet conditions, which is common where I live with a lot of standing water. I’ll have to wait until next winter to see how they perform in snow, but it’s usually mild around here.

Looks awesome! Please keep us updated on your mileage and noise levels.

Pasted from my earlier reply:

@Violet
Sure, but those can’t be quiet highway tires. A directional all-weather with those nice rims would give you better performance. Maybe something like a Kumho Solus HA32.

Noise is about the same or better. I just wanted tires that weren’t ‘highway’ ones.

@Violet
As someone with a similar setup, you might be a bit biased. They are noticeably noisier than stock.

Lol, definitely not noisier. The stock tires were loud on anything but the smoothest roads. These are better, if anything.

Maybe they just have better roads where they live.
