How do you stop Toyota from tracking your vehicle?

Has anyone figured out how to stop Toyota from tracking your car without losing all the app features? I tried disabling it on my 2020 model, and it’s a bit of a trade-off. Curious if others have done the same.

I’m glad I have a 2019. No tracking features to worry about on mine!

Even on older models, if you use the Entune app, you’re probably still sharing data with Toyota. It’s sneaky like that.

I don’t really care if Toyota tracks me. My life’s pretty boring, so it’s not like they’ll find anything interesting.

I feel the same way. If they want to know how often I drive to the grocery store, they’re welcome to it lol.

OP, when you say you lose features, do you mean you can’t use the key fob or the dashboard anymore?

Good question! You only lose those features in the Toyota app. The fob and dashboard still work fine.

That makes more sense. I’ve never used the app much anyway, so it wouldn’t be a big deal for me.

This tracking stuff has been around for a while. Even older models share data if you’ve got a connected app. It’s just part of how cars are now.

Right? It’s not like this is new. I’m more worried about the black boxes in cars that track everything.

Anyone here ever had their insurance claim denied because Toyota shared tracking data with their insurance company? Just wondering.

Not personally, but I’ve heard stories. It’s definitely something to keep in mind if you’re worried about privacy.
