I have a dent on my Camry. Does anyone know how much it would cost to fix it, or should I try fixing it myself?
There’s a forum dedicated to Camry dents. You might find some useful tips there.

Haha, that’s a good one. Thanks for the laugh .

I was going to suggest that too. Great minds think alike.

Yeah, it’s worth checking out… sometimes people share detailed fixes there.
Have you tried using hot water and a toilet plunger? It works on some types of dents.

That could work, but if you can access the back of the dent, you might be able to push it out from there.
@Vince
You can remove the bumper if you’re handy with tools. That makes it easier to push out.
Try using a heat gun on a low to medium setting, keeping it moving so you don’t damage the paint. If you can access the space behind the bumper, you can carefully push the dent out while applying heat. A hair dryer might not be strong enough, but hot water can be an alternative. Watch some tutorials for your car’s model for better guidance.
If there are no cracks in the paint, you can fix it with heat and pressure. For a really clean job, check out paintless dent repair (PDR) services. I used to think PDR was overpriced, but I had some done along with detailing for $400, and it turned out great. Now I always get a PDR quote before doing anything else.
If you can reach behind the dent, try popping it out with your hands. I had a similar dent on my RAV4, and my husband was able to push it out smoothly after removing the interior liner.

What tools did he use for that?
@Keagan
A heat gun or even a hair dryer, along with some careful hand pressure.

Mostly his hands and removing the plastic cover to access the dent. Once he could push it from the inside, it looked good as new.

We also have a heat gun, but I can’t recall if he used it that time.

Heat guns work better, but a hair dryer can do the job if you have patience.
@Keagan
He also used a suction cup and plunger but didn’t get it smooth until he could push it out from behind. It was like the dent never happened, although there’s a tiny crack in the paint. It was near the emblem, which made it trickier.
If you can remove the panel, try using a blow dryer to heat the dent and push it out from behind. I had a bigger dent on my bumper, and it worked perfectly.

I’d love to try that, but I don’t have much experience. My dad has a lot of tools, and I’ve seen videos of people fixing these things themselves.
@Keagan
You can always ask your dad to help. It’s a good way to learn together. A shop can fix it, but they’ll charge a lot more.
