I need a car fast… What do you think of this Prius? Never had one before… any advice?

That price is suspicious for any running car, let alone a Prius. Something feels off.

I love my 2012 Prius. It’s easy to find parts, and repairs have been minimal. I drove it from Colorado to Seattle and back this summer with no issues, just needed an oil change after.

With that mileage, it might have a salvage title. I usually avoid those, but at 3K, it’s tempting.

I’ve had two salvage Priuses, and they were great. Minimal damage, fixed right. Gave one to my cousin, and they’re still using it. I’m on my fifth Prius now.

This thing’s probably got a week left before it starts throwing codes for the battery and head gasket.

Does it come with a mechanic?

Unless you know how to do your own repairs, high-mileage cars like this will likely cost you more in the long run.

It’s a gamble. This model can either go another 100K miles without trouble or break down next week.

300K miles? Go for it if you’re feeling lucky!

Get a mechanic to look it over before you buy it.

Ask how old the smaller 12V battery is. If it hasn’t been replaced, that could be an issue.

There’s no starter battery in a Prius.

Really? My Prius C has one, so I figured all models had it.

If you’re really tight on cash, I’d go for a regular Toyota. Hybrids with that many miles can be risky.

I clicked the link and checked the ODB report. How do you even manage to misfire so many cylinders on a Prius?

This deal feels way too good to be true.

That’s a lot of miles. No way to know how the previous owner drove it.

It’ll need serious maintenance soon, if not already. Find out how old the water pump is and if it’s burning oil.

Make sure the head gasket has been replaced on this one. It’s a known issue with these models.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll try negotiating the price down. If I end up buying it, I’ll keep the forum posted.
