I just installed an intake on my 2005 Corolla XRS and now I’m getting Code P0171 and P2441. Watched an install video, and it said to put the hose from the side of the intake into the air pump. Not sure what’s up… maybe the hose isn’t connected right? Anyone dealt with this before?
Hose might not be in properly. Did you get the right intake for your setup?

Yeah, if it’s an aftermarket intake, that can happen a lot. P0171 means the system is too lean, so air might be leaking in somewhere.
@Vincent
It’s a universal intake, not really looking for performance—just liked how it looks/sounds. But the connections should be the same… hose isn’t a perfect fit though.
Did you check if the airflow sensor is facing the right direction? Some need the airflow straightening fins.

Yeah, the MAF sensor only mounts one way. I made sure it’s the same as how it was on the stock airbox.
P0171 usually means a leak in the intake system. These universal kits aren’t always a perfect fit. Did you delete the air injection pump?

Nah, didn’t delete the air pump. The install videos I watched just showed them shoving the hose into the air pump hole, so maybe it’s not sealing right?
@Katnis
That could be it. If it’s not sealing properly, you might be getting an air leak. Try making sure the hose fits tightly or look into adapters.
Based on the replies, I think it’s the air breather hose not sealing right. I’ll try to fit it better to stop any leaks. Appreciate the help!
