I’ve been comparing prices for used Foresters, and this seems close to the average. It’s on the pricier side but still within the range. KBB estimates it at $22k to $24k. The dealership has a no-haggle policy, so they won’t lower the price. What do you all think? Worth it or keep looking?
Sounds like a decent price to me. New ones go for around $34k, I think. If the car is in good condition, I’d consider it.
I saw a 2021 Forester with 80k miles selling for $25k recently, so your deal looks better in comparison.
I bought a 2022 Premium with 28k miles in Minnesota for $28k not long ago. Hope that helps you gauge the market.

That’s helpful. I checked prices nationwide, and they seem pretty consistent across the board.
Make sure the previous owner kept up with regular maintenance. My friend bought a used Subaru and couldn’t get a warranty repair because there were no maintenance records available.

Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll definitely check for those records!
Try asking them to include an extended warranty or knock $2k off the price. Even if they say no, it’s worth a shot.
Where are 2021 Foresters selling for these prices? I have one with 38k miles, and my dealer only offered me $21k.

Dealers buy them at $21k so they can turn around and sell them for $24k to people like me.
I got a 2021 Forester Premium in August, certified pre-owned with 7,500 miles, for $27k. Thought I’d share in case it helps.

Did you get it inspected before buying?

Nope, I skipped the inspection.
I just got a 2021 Sport with all the optional packages and 18k miles for $27k here in SoCal. If you can’t negotiate, you might still want to check around for other options.
If it were me, I’d consider a brand-new base model instead. Subaru usually has good financing deals too.
This makes me happy. We bought a 2020 in 2021 for $27k with 7,300 miles. It’s at 45k miles now, and we only owe $6,300 on the loan. Loving it!
I got a 2020 Limited with 23.5k miles for $25.5k in Missouri. It had one owner, no accidents, and they traded it for a Wagoneer. Fun fact, I found their business card in the owner’s manual!
They were asking $26,937, and it was also a no-haggle dealership. Still, I asked for their best price and managed to get them down a bit. If you don’t ask, you won’t know! If you have info on similar vehicles priced lower, that can also help you negotiate. Your price and mileage aren’t far off, though, so it’s not a bad deal either way.
