Is $44k a good OTD price for a 2025 Camry XSE?

Kinda feeling some buyer’s remorse… I preordered a 2025 Camry XSE AWD with the premium plus package in midnight black with red interior. Didn’t go for too many extras, just the DRL bumper lights. OTD price was $44,000 including 8% tax and dealer fees. Does that seem like a fair deal?

No point stressing about it now, you already got the car! If my math’s right, you basically paid MSRP, which is normal for a preorder. Here’s a rough breakdown:

  • Base XSE (black): $36,035
  • AWD: +$1,525
  • Premium Plus Pkg: +$4,075
  • Destination: +$1,135

That’s $41,635 before tax. With 8% sales tax, your OTD should be around $44,965. Looks like you actually saved about $1k. No crazy dealer fees either, just no discounts. Enjoy the car, it’s solid! :red_car:

@Dallas
Dealer fees were $464 for doc fee and $218 for registration. I feel like I didn’t win or lose much since none were in stock and preorders were the only option in my area. Just wanted to see what others thought.

@Oswin
Nah, you got it at cost. If you keep it for 10-20 years, that’s like $2-4k per year for a fully loaded, reliable sedan. That’s a solid long-term buy.

Yeah, that’s how I see it too. It was either wait 2-3 months or just secure one now at a price that wasn’t insane.

@Oswin
Totally get it. You’ve got a dream-handling Camry, which is a win in my book. I’ve been saving up for one myself. Enjoy it! :blush:

Never had a Camry before, but we’ve owned a bunch of Toyotas and they were all rock solid. Figured it was time to go all in on a fully loaded one I can keep long-term.

For that price, I’d rather get a slightly used Lexus ES 300h.

No AWD on that though, which is a deal breaker for some people.

Can you even find an ES 300h for that price?

Yeah, new ones start at $44,615, so you could probably find a lightly used one around that price.

@Haris
I went to a dealer today and they wanted $45-50k OTD for an XSE without the premium plus package. At that point, the Lexus seems like a better value.

Keep looking, some dealers are offering 10% off MSRP. I found one with 2k miles for $34k before taxes and fees.

Your location matters a lot here. Prices vary by state, so check KBB or NADA for local market rates. Those prices come straight from DMV/tag office data, so they’re way more reliable than random internet opinions.

@Alexander
Good point, I’ll check those. Thanks!

Tbh, I wouldn’t go over $40k OTD for a 2025 XSE. But yeah, dealers will always squeeze every dollar they can out of you. I got my 2024 LE Hybrid for way more than I wanted, but at the end of the day, I know it’s gonna last and save me on gas. Just enjoy the car and drive smart to maximize MPG.

@ToyotaTalker
Nah, OP actually got a fair deal. Base XSE is ~$36k before adding AWD and premium plus. No big cash discounts make sense on a preorder. Also, with the upcoming tariffs, this price will probably look even better soon.

@Roux
True, I overlooked the premium plus package. Yeah, makes sense now.

Camrys are hard to negotiate on. Dealers know they sell fast, so they don’t have much reason to offer discounts. If you got it close to MSRP, that’s about as good as it gets.

Exactly. They were all presold in my area, so I had to preorder. No real leverage to negotiate.
