I can’t believe it’s been almost 6 years since I got this car. It still looks as good as the day I bought it. What do you all think?
@Roux
That’s awesome!!!

That’s impressive. Toyota really knows how to make them last
@Kerry
Better than a lot of Chinese brands. I wouldn’t trust those to last long. They’re cheap for a reason

Can you share how the mileage is after all these years? What kind of maintenance do you do?
@Vincent
I change oil every 6000 miles, only use OEM Toyota oil. I also change the servo fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and axle fluid every 35,000 miles. I clean the throttle body and idle control valve when needed. Every 4 years, I apply undercoating to prevent rust. During winter, I brush the wheel arches with used motor oil every 2 weeks to keep rust under control
@Roux
How do I find someone to undercoat my RAV4 properly? I’ve heard bad undercoats can trap moisture and salt. Can I do it myself? Rust is a big issue where I live

Rubbery undercoats aren’t great. I sand any rust, apply rust passivizer, paint with hammerite, then spray a mix of linseed oil, wax, and paraffin. It keeps the underbody rust-free and stays oily. I do it myself and it works really well

Thanks for the tips. I’ll save this message. I’ll figure out the rest

My 2012 Toyota Camry had a bad oil burning issue. There were recalls, but I missed the timeframe. My brother’s Scion had the same problem. Always check for recalls
@Roux
My friend has one that’s still running strong. It’s needed some work, but the engine and transmission are fine. If you maintain them, most cars will last. Even if you need a new transmission, it’s cheaper than overpaying for a high-mileage Honda or Toyota

She’s a beauty!
@Roux
Same with my RAV4! Same color too!
@Vin
I love the old-style gold fonts and emblem. Looks really cool
