Just wondering if going 150 miles past the recommended oil change interval is going to cause any issues. Anyone have experience with this?
You’ll be fine. Just check your oil level to make sure it’s not running low.

People really should check their oil regularly, not just wait for the next oil change.

In all my Subarus, I wait for the oil light to come on and then add a quart. Works like a charm!
@Joss
Hopefully, you mean the yellow light and not the red one!

Yellow, of course. I’ve never seen the red one, thankfully.
@Joss
Trusting a $30 oil sensor to protect a $10,000 engine is risky. There are plenty of stories of Subaru engines being ruined by running low on oil.
Check your oil every few gas fill-ups or after heavy driving like mountain trips. My ‘14 burns a quart every 3-5k miles, but a single day in the mountains can burn the same amount.
@Merrill
Relax, it was a joke. Oil consumption has been a known issue with every Subaru I’ve owned, from my 2002 WRX to my 2013 Crosstrek.
Believe it or not, straight to jail for this.

Underrated comment of the day.
150 miles? No issues. 1,500? Probably fine too. 15,000? Now that’s pushing it.

So even at 1,500 miles over, it wouldn’t be a big problem?

Probably not, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
150 miles is nothing. Just get it changed when you can.

If you’re taking it to the dealership for service, keep in mind they often push early oil changes to make money. A good quality oil can last over 10,000 miles. Find a trustworthy local mechanic instead of relying on the dealership.
You’re well within the margin of error. Don’t sweat it.
No problem at all. Just get it done soon.
Is this a serious question?

OP has a 2023 Subaru but is asking like they’re new to this.
150 miles over is nothing. Manufacturers used to recommend oil changes every 3,000 miles, but now some suggest 10,000. I usually stick to every 5,000 with synthetic oil, and that works well.
