Is the B58 Supra just a BMW or something better…

@Bailey
The looks are subjective, but the hype is what sells the Supra. The Z4 has better warranty coverage and free BMW service, though.

Toyota has made plenty of successful sports cars—Celica, MR2, 86. BMWs are more luxury-focused. The Supra stands out more, and Toyota handled the design and suspension tuning. The B58 is an amazing engine, so I’m glad they used it.

You do realize Toyota barely did anything, right? They weren’t assembling parts in BMW’s plant. Most of their input was just tuning requests.

You’re oversimplifying. If you actually look into the collaboration, Toyota had more involvement than you think. It’s fine to not like it, but acting like they slapped a badge on a Z4 is just wrong.

Toyota designed the body, not BMW.

@Bailey
And they tuned the engine and suspension!
