Is the gas tank door clip also a cap holder?

In forums like this, it’s usually safer to search before posting. Otherwise, you get comments like these lol.

Yeah, lesson learned! :joy:

Don’t let the gatekeepers bother you. You made a discovery, and that’s cool! Screw the haters.

@Ellison
Haha, it’s all good!

As someone else who’s new here, I appreciate the post! Never thought of this, and I find the lack of a cap holder really annoying.

@GearHeadPro
Well, shame on me! I misread your post and thought you were talking about a cup holder, not a cap holder. :joy:

Lol, I was just wondering if it was an intended design feature or a coincidence. Didn’t realize this was asked so much—I just got my truck!

@GearHeadPro
I doubt it was intentional. That little plastic piece might wear down over time if you use it a lot.

All signs point to yes.

Ah shit, here we go again. :joy:

Yes, and that’s why I don’t understand all the aftermarket ones.

Yep, it works for me.

Why is this such a thing for this truck?

Buy the $7 holder and watch people get mad. :joy:

Y’all use a gas cap holder? I just let that thing dangle.

DANGLE GANG!

Why do people want a holder when Toyota clearly wants the cap to dangle? Let it hang free! :joy:

That’s where I put mine too!

I have a theory that Toyota secretly designed it to work this way!

I use it to pick my teeth.

You can use the clip, but I got one of these cap holders and it works better: [Link]

I bought one of those too. Works like a charm.
