Is there a way to track a Toyota vehicle order in Canada?

Hey everyone, I know this gets asked a lot, but I figured I’d check and see what others have to say.

I placed an order for a Toyota and I’m trying to find a way to track its progress in Canada. I called Toyota, and they just told me to check with the dealer. The dealer hasn’t been very helpful either.

I don’t have a VIN yet, which seems to be another issue. Has anyone found a way to track their order?

Not sure if it’s the same in Canada, but in the U.S., Toyota has a database where they track new vehicles. In my experience, it’s not the most accurate—it gives an ETA, but that’s just an early estimate. Delays happen pretty often, so there’s no exact way to know when it’ll arrive. Just what I’ve seen here in the states.

Yeah, I’ve tried checking Toyota’s Canadian and U.S. sites, but no luck. I have a Toyota VTN number, but it doesn’t seem to do anything for tracking.

Yeah, the VTN just confirms that the build has started. The dealer will get the VIN once it’s finished. Hopefully, you won’t have to wait too long!

What model did you order, and what timeline did they give you? If it’s a gas RAV4, you should have it in a few months. If it’s a hybrid, it could take a year or more. If they don’t have a date yet, then nobody really knows.

@Keir
They told me it should be here by August. It’s a Corolla Sedan SE Upgrade.

Not having a VIN is the biggest issue. That’s what most tracking systems use.

You can’t track it in Canada. The best you can do is ask your dealer where you are on their waiting list.

As far as I know, there’s no way to track it in Canada. You just have to wait and hope there aren’t any delays, like a stop sale due to a recall.

Man, Canada really gets the short end of the stick on this.
