Who is this Jerry guy everyone keeps mentioning?
The first 5 years of a new Toyota usually don’t have major issues. It’s designed to last. If you’re planning on using a dealer mechanic, it could make sense, but if not, I’d skip the extended warranty. Some people buy it as a hedge against inflation, but who knows.
Definitely not worth it! I sell vehicle service contracts, and the max we offer is $2,999 for 72 months/100k miles with $0 deductible. Tell your dealer to stop trying to overcharge you.
Just tell them no. That price is ridiculous. If you can pay upfront, you can buy the extended warranty before the 3-year basic warranty runs out. You can also shop around at other dealerships.
Mine was only $1,200. I have a hybrid too, and it was a solid deal. $6,440 is way too much.
No warranties. Ever.
I thought the standard warranty was 6 years/125k miles in the US? Here in my country it’s standard for most cars.
