I opted out through the Toyota app. There’s an option under the account settings to manage your data preferences.

Does opting out affect other features, like SiriusXM or OTA updates?
@Chan
Opting out might disable OTA updates. According to the manual, they don’t collect audio but may capture images. It’s still a concerning practice.

When you opt out, the app redirects you to a privacy form hosted by a third-party compliance company. It’s part of privacy laws like GDPR.
Toyota’s website says they don’t share driving data. Do you have a source for this?

If you’re subscribed to Toyota Connected Services, it tracks things like braking and acceleration. I’ve opted out but still get emails saying I qualify for discounts based on my driving habits.
@Magdalina
I’m in Canada, and the Toyota site here claims they don’t share this data. Maybe it’s different in the U.S.?
This is more about dealerships and the software they use. Toyota corporate isn’t directly selling this data.

I read the terms recently and didn’t see anything explicitly about this. It feels like a rumor based on what GM is doing.
