Just finished my new truck’s paint correction and ceramic coat… thoughts?

I have the same color and have been thinking about doing this. The swirls and scratches from the previous owner’s car wash routine are rough. Clean, though, this color really pops!

Definitely worth it. Mine had a lot of scratches and swirls, but after some effort, it’s looking so much better.

If I do this, how long before it starts looking bad again?

Depends on how you wash it. I always hand wash using the two-bucket method. With ceramic coating, it’s easier to clean and offers some protection too.

How much did this set you back? It looks great!

I did it all myself.

I’ve been learning how to do this myself lately.

Honestly, it’s a hobby of mine. I enjoy restoring paint that’s been neglected. Ceramic coating is one of the best protections available. You just need the right tools and know-how.

@PaulMagnet
Where are you located? Do you take jobs like this?

@PaulMagnet
I wish I had a friend like you!

@PaulMagnet
Any chance you’d make my 2021 Trail part of your hobby?

What tools do you recommend for someone starting?

Is that an M6 or M3? I’ve got a white ORP, but I dream of a Le Mans blue E92.

That’s my dad’s E92 Comp.

Looks great! What products did you use, and how many stages did you go through?

I worked on a black daily Accord with Rupes Yellow Microfiber Pads and Rupes All-in-One Advanced. For scratches, I used Yellow Compound. The 4R paint seems tougher, so I only did a light protective layer when I got it. Now I’m considering a more aggressive cut for better results. What worked for you?

@Fane
I used Griot’s Fast Correcting Cream and Sonax Cutmax with a wool pad for cutting. For tough spots, Meguiar’s 101. Finished with Sonax Perfect Finish and ceramic-coated it with Adam’s Advanced Graphene. It’s held up well on my other cars too.

@PaulMagnet
That looks amazing! Nautical Blue is the best. I used the same ceramic coating on my white truck, but it’s not as dramatic. For maintenance, I’ve been mixing Adam’s Graphene Boost with Detail Co Infinity Spray. Keeps it shiny and slick. Your truck will stay like this for a long time if you do the same.

@PaulMagnet
Adam’s products are solid. I’ve been doing 2-3 machine waxes a year, but I’m tempted to try real ceramic coating now.
