Just Installed My Prinsu Rack… Thoughts?

Make sure to check your hardware every few months. The rack is solid, but my bolts corroded and snapped when I tried to remove them. Ended up stuck in the crossbars, and Prinsu wouldn’t cover it.

Yeah, I had a similar problem on my Tacoma a couple of years ago. Luckily, I got the broken bolts out using a bolt extractor and some penetrating oil.

Looks great! I was considering this but really need a flat platform setup.

@Cole
Thanks! Your setup looks awesome too.

That turned out really nice. Great job.

Appreciate it!

This looks awesome! I’m getting one this weekend. How long did the install take?

Took me about four hours. I was extra careful with the plusnuts so they wouldn’t spin loose. Watched a few videos on how to drop the headliner slightly instead of removing it completely.

@ChrisBunnet
Nice! I figured it’d be around 3-4 hours. Thanks for the info!

No problem!

Did you notice any extra wind noise after installing it?

Love this setup! What wheels and tires are you running? Brand, size?

I listed them at the bottom of the post.

Gotcha, thanks! One more thing—how much did your MPG drop with the new setup? Do you mostly drive highway or city?

@Eden
Stock tires gave me around 42 mpg, but with the new wheels and tires, I’m getting about 37-38 mpg. The new setup is actually 20 lbs lighter than stock.

Wait, you have to drill? That’s a dealbreaker for me.

Not exactly. The holes are already there; you just have to widen them a little to fit the plusnuts.
