Before anyone asks—yes, it’s on. My only experience with lane centering is in my wife’s VW, and that one is mostly steady. I’ve only had my SR5 for a couple of days now, but it feels like it’s constantly wobbling back and forth in the lane instead of holding center. Anyone else notice this?
I have a ‘24 with lane centering, but I never use it. It’s like bowling with the bumpers up—just bounces back and forth. My wife’s five-year-old X5 is miles ahead of it.

That’s exactly how mine feels. It technically keeps me in the lane, but I feel like I’m constantly fighting it to stay centered.
I’ve got a ‘22 RAV4, and the lane keep assist isn’t nearly as good as my wife’s ‘21 Pilot. My Tundra is too old to have it, so I can’t compare.

For reference—my wife’s ‘23 RAV4 lane assist isn’t great, but my ‘24 SR5 is absolute garbage compared to it.
That and the awful turning radius are my only complaints about how it drives. Otherwise, I love the truck.
@Quade
Funny thing—back in 2016, the Tundra had the best turning radius of any full-size truck. No idea about 2024, but not surprised it got worse.

Yeah, I looked it up, and the latest gen went from best in class to worst in class. I really noticed it compared to my old Silverado—I used to just barely squeeze out of my work spot with one reverse. Now? It’s full-on Austin Powers-style five-point turns every day.
I’ve given up and just park in the back of grocery store lots now. Can’t imagine trying to park one of these in a city daily.
I keep mine turned off. It loses track of the lane even in good conditions, then freaks out in a turn with no lines and tries to steer me off the road.
What year is yours? My ‘20 only gives a warning when I drift out of the lane, it doesn’t actually correct anything.
Yeah, it sucks. It’s like it’s only looking two feet in front of the bumper and constantly overcorrecting.
Total trash.
Mine works fine on a straight highway.
It’s much worse on our Tundra than on our Kia. Weirdly, it actually works better at night than during the day.
Some cars let you adjust how aggressive it is—might be worth checking if yours has that option.
It’s pretty bad compared to a good system. I rented a Genesis G80 once, and that thing LOCKED onto the center lane and even handled curves well. Only had to step in for sharp ones.
I played around with the settings and turned sway sensitivity way up, which helped a little. Still not great, though.
Sometimes it works fine, other times it bounces around like crazy. No clue why.
It doesn’t even have lane centering, just lane departure warning.

That’s just not true.

Yeah, okay, but it feels like that. Just keeps bouncing around and then yells at you lol.
@Wayne
Okay, fair point lol.
