@Toryn
I get 26-27 at 75mph, so that tracks.
I’m not understanding the math here. The value in the mpg column should equal the distance divided by the gallons, but it does not.

The math checks out. What’s skewing it is the Q4 for the Crosstrek.

Here’s a version filtering for only full tanks.
I get about the same MPG in my 2017 Forester 2.5i as I was in my 2013 Ford Focus. Slightly better on the highway since I use the cruise control.
What were you expecting?
My 2021 Forester sport averages over 30mpg (and how much depends on summer or winner gas blend), without a rack or Thule box

About what I got. The vehicle fits my use case very well. If I were to get a different vehicle it would be a truck. However, I don’t need a vehicle that big nor do I want something that big. I knew changing from the Crosstrek to the Forester was going to be a hit to mpg, but the extra space is worth it.
I car camp on long trips, use it for work, and generally like the shorter wheelbase and overall size to get into tight areas in the forest.
