I lost my only key for my 2020 Subaru Impreza (blade key). I’ve had three locksmiths try using Smart Pro and Autel programming tools, but none could get the car to connect. Has anyone faced this problem or know a solution?
If you have no keys at all, you might need to send your modules to SOA. Losing your last key can be very costly, and getting a replacement key is expensive.

I found this video. I’ve contacted the guy for more details and might send my Body Control Module to him for reprogramming. Has anyone tried this or worked with him before?
Did you lose all your keys at the same time?

I only had one set when I bought it used.

You should have gotten a spare key right away.
Tow it to a dealer, but be prepared for a big bill—around $4500. They’ll have to reprogram all the car modules, like the BCU, immobilizer, and ECU, to accept a new key.
Wow, these costs are pretty high. Are Subarus hard to steal? I hope that’s the case.
I work at a Subaru dealer, and our local locksmith somehow still programs keys for Subarus even when there are no original keys. I’m not sure what method he uses, but it works without sending anything to SOA.

I had to replace my key a few years ago. The dealer said it could only be done through them. I went 200 meters up the road to a local locksmith, and they did it in 30 minutes for a quarter of the price. I don’t care how they did it, but it works perfectly.
Tow it to a dealer. You’ll probably get charged about $750 for a key, plus the tow costs.

750 is just the low-end price. Losing all of your keys is definitely pricey.

It’ll cost way more if you have no keys. If you still had one key, it might have been around that price, maybe a bit less.
I had a Legacy with the same problem. The customer had it towed in, and it ended up needing thousands of dollars of work, new modules, reprogramming, etc.
When this happens, we usually have to replace the body control module and the security module. It’s expensive because we have to remove the dashboard to access the security module behind the HVAC system. We often have to remove and recharge the AC system during the process. Hope this helps!
