I’m really sad. I’ve only put a couple thousand miles on her!
I’m sorry to hear that. Whoever did this deserves a rough ride.
Edit: I did follow the driver and managed to get the plate! They almost caused another accident trying to get away from me.
I hope it was caught on dash cam.

Any recommendations for a dash cam?

BlackVue is a good option.

Why is it named BlackVue though?
@Soren
Of course you brought race into it.

Ideally, look for ones with both front and back cameras. Connectivity to a smartphone is a nice feature too.

I have a FitCamX in my Camry. It does what it needs to do. They have both front only and front and rear versions, and they’re easy to install yourself if they have a model that fits your car.
@Jose
I second FitCamX. They make them custom for a wide range of vehicles and you hardly notice it. I have a front and rear set for my IS500 that cost me $275, and the quality is great. I can adjust the resolution and frame rate, which is nice!

VIOFO is another good option.
Hopefully you can get CCTV footage from a nearby store or a traffic camera from where it happened to get their plates. Make sure to contact your insurance about this.
This happened to me recently too. It’s the worst.

I’m sorry! This really sucks.
You should confront the guy!

But he took off.
This happened to me on October 18th. Luckily, I had a dash cam. I called the sheriff after it was reported as a hit and run. A week and a half later, they contacted me after checking the license plate from my dash cam video, and their insurance accepted responsibility. My car is about to go in for repairs.
