My 2020 Supra got water in the ECM, and now it’s completely fried. They told me they can’t recover anything from it.
From what I’ve been hearing, I need an ECM made before July 2020 unless I want to go through the process of unlocking a newer one. Is that true?
I also keep hearing that since newer sensors were added, they have to be programmed to match the replacement ECM. Can anyone confirm if that’s the case?
This is the only thing keeping my car off the road. It’s been sitting for over a year now, and I just want to get it running again. Any advice would be really appreciated.
The ECM cutoff date is pre-June 2020. Not sure if you’ll be able to fix this. Those older ECUs aren’t available anymore, and the newer ones might not work with the 2-port Supra.
You could try reaching out to Femto in Finland. They might be able to do something with your damaged ECM. If that doesn’t work, you might have to go through insurance and see if it qualifies as a total loss.
