Never Thought I’d Ever Find One. A 2024 Corolla XLE Hybrid!

I was just browsing a dealership out of boredom when I stumbled upon this beauty. I’ve always wanted an XLE but could never find one. Got it for $28k out the door, and I’m very happy!

I have one too, and it’s the same color. I have a twin!

Just a heads up, that isn’t a 2024; it’s a 2023 at the newest because the Toyota emblem isn’t on the hood. Just FYI.

Not true. The LE and XLE have their emblem on the grille. I just checked Toyota.com.

No worries! :+1:

How’s the cabin noise on these? I was in an LE Hybrid on the highway, and it was so loud!

I had to sell my 2024 SE Hybrid because of cabin noise. It was really bad—made my ears ring. I got a 2025 Civic Touring Hybrid. It’s fun with over 200 horsepower. A bit more money, but definitely more car. The Corolla is great in many ways, but they really need to invest in sound insulation.

I’m getting the same 42-52 MPG with way more power.

My friend has an XLE hybrid, and it has nice power seats and an all-digital dash.

You know you can soundproof a car for $70-$140 and just a few hours of work, right?

@Page
Coming from a 2014 VW Jetta SE, the road noise is deafening! I’ve NEVER owned a car THIS loud on the road, and I had a 1991 Ford Escort Pony, which was the most stripped-down model they sold. It was quieter on the interstate than this!

@Payton
Before my Corolla, I had a 2014 Jetta SE and a 2013 Tiguan S. Both were like a Mercedes in terms of interior noise. It was quite a shock to realize how noisy the Corolla was going to be. I see people installing insulation matting to reduce road noise, and that’s got to help a lot.

@Page
Yeah, but when you’re spending $27k+, you need to ask yourself, ‘Why am I stripping my brand new car to add sound deadening? Why not just get a car that has that already for less money?’

I’d choose the Civic Sport Hybrid at $28,000 before I’d consider another Corolla Hybrid. Corollas are a bit overpriced, but they’re selling every one they make. Last month, the Corolla was the third fastest-selling car in the country. People are really into them. We need a bit more for the price, and sound insulation would be a huge plus.

I enjoyed the driving experience yesterday for the first time in a while, but that constant noise is super irritating. You can’t just turn up the weak sound system to drown it out. It all just becomes noise. I’m too old for that now. I left the bulletproof reliability of the Corolla, but I’m willing to sacrifice a bit of that for a more well-rounded car. I’m really enjoying the extra power and the ability to pass in traffic without straining the car.

@Page
With my previous experience in the VW Jetta and the bad taste Toyota has left me with at a higher price point, I’m ready to switch back to VW as soon as I get back from vacation.

I test drove a Taos SE Black, and the last 2024 Jetta S the dealership had was on sale for $21,000. I really enjoyed the Jetta, especially for the price. It sold two days later before I was ready to decide, but it was a nice driving car with good power. The Taos was absurd at $33,000 without a hybrid.

Show us a side view! I want to see those alloys.
