New car ended up being cheaper than used… anyone else?

Same here. I was shopping for a used model but found a 0% financing deal on a new one. Over the life of the loan, the new one is actually cheaper.

I did the same thing a few years ago. Love my 2023 Wilderness—it was a great buy.

Congrats! My son did the same thing in 2022 with his Wilderness. It’s such a great car—more comfortable than my 2015 Forester Premium.

This happened to me in 2019. Used cars were more expensive due to interest rates, and I got $5k off MSRP on a new one.

Congrats! I got a 2025 Autumn Green Wilderness, and it’s amazing! :star_struck:

1.5% is awesome. I just got a 2024 Wilderness two months ago, and my rate was 1.9%. Same conclusion—used wasn’t worth it with those interest rates.

My local dealer offered 1.9%, but they’re buying it down to 0% for 72 months. Couldn’t say no to that deal.

I wish I’d waited for a green one too, but I didn’t want to deal with the wait. Congrats!

What’s your credit score, by the way?

People are crazy for financing through dealers. Always use a credit union or a good bank. Dealers mark up rates to make extra money.

If you’ve got good credit, don’t let them take advantage of you!
