Consumer Reports just released their latest reliability ratings, and Toyota is dominating the list. The gas version of the RAV4 is now ranked higher than the hybrid version, sitting at #1. I wonder if this is because of the “cable gate” issue? I have a 2024 gas RAV4, so I’m happy to see it at the top for reliability.
You should delete this post so fewer people buy it … that way I can get mine faster … just kidding …
The Elantra is more reliable than the Prius? Really?

Consumer Reports’ survey methods are a bit odd. They don’t include cars older than 6 years. Lexus ES owners are more likely to report minor issues, while RAV4 owners might not. The cars are mechanically similar, so the difference comes down to how they collect the data.
@Ari
Great point! People often overlook how surveys are done.
@Ari
Exactly. They make way more F-150s, so of course there will be some issues.
I have the 2024 gas RAV4, and I’m really happy with it!

Me four!
I’m not sure how much to trust this. A Hyundai made the top ten, but no Honda?

Yeah, it’s a bit confusing. Consumer Reports rates the Subaru Forester as the top compact SUV, but no Subaru is on this reliability list.
The gas version is solid. I love my 2022 LE AWD, but I wish the interior was a bit bigger. Just one inch higher would make a difference.

The powertrain is great, but the interior has some rattles and buzzes that come and go. It’s a bit annoying.
@Day
They didn’t use enough soundproofing materials.
@Day
The rattles drive me crazy too. I thought I was the only one!

Maybe it’s a strategy to make you upgrade to a Lexus next time.
Fords are terrible. This chart seems accurate to me.
Our 2019 RAV4 (gas) just had its transmission fail at 71k miles. I feel cheated, and this list doesn’t mean much to me. Still, RAV4s are great overall.

When I was looking to buy a RAV4, I saw that 2019 models had a lot of transmission issues. Dealers kept pushing them because they had so many trade-ins. You might want to check if there’s a recall.
