How’s the hybrid battery holding up?

It’s a bit tired, but considering what I paid for the car, I’m not too worried about replacing it if I need to.

You might want to be. Replacing those batteries can be expensive.

@Keagan
True, but I’ve seen replacement options for $2k-$3k. I’m willing to pay that if needed. For now, I’ll just try to maintain it.

You can rebuild them. Sometimes only a few cells go bad. I managed to fix mine for under $400.

Good to know! By the way, have you thought about car camping? The Prius is great for that.

@Keagan
Yeah, I’m stoked for some road trips! I’m 6’4", so I can almost lie down in it comfortably.

My old 2006 Prius hit 860k miles without major repairs. The only big fix was a $1,800 coolant issue. My 2012 Prius made it to 600k before I totaled it. You’ve got a lot of life left in that car!

@Zinn
860k miles? That’s insane!

@Zinn
How do you even put that many miles on a car? Are you a driver for work?

Haha, sounds like you’ll be curling up in the fetal position!

You can sometimes price match a $1,700 OEM battery at a dealership. Just make sure you return a standard case, not a rebuilder case. It made a huge difference in my car’s MPG.

What a find! You could still rack up some serious mileage on that.

Roof bars too? Looking slick!

Totally! :red_car:

Check out getting a hybrid battery grid charger. Might give your battery a longer life. Venice Hybrid Tech has great resources for around $300.

Those roof bars are sweet!
