My radio stopped working and I’m not sure if the screen or something inside broke. Has this happened to anyone else with the same car?
That’s actually a pretty common problem in those cars.
You can try replacing just the screen’s digitizer, or swap the whole radio out for an aftermarket one.

Thanks, I’ll look into both options.
I have the exact same model. I’ve been thinking about getting an aftermarket radio too. If you end up doing it, let me know how it goes

I will, thanks!

They’re usually easy to install. The ones on Amazon are plug-and-play, just need to skim the instructions.
Yeah, the digitizer tends to fail in this model. It’s not cheap to fix, so a lot of people just go aftermarket.

That’s probably the way I’ll go. Appreciate the help.

I changed mine myself. Got a digitizer off eBay for $18 and it took about an hour and a half to install.
Sorry I didn’t answer your main question before — yes, it’s a touch screen. Not sure if there’s a workaround to get sound without the touch part working. If I get a chance tomorrow I’ll check mine and let you know if there’s any trick.
@Leslie
Thanks, that would be great.
Here’s what I found — if you have a USB-to-headphone-jack adapter, try plugging into the one near the cigarette lighter. Then hit the mode button on the steering wheel. It might switch to AUX mode and play from your phone. It’s not perfect but might work until you fix it.
@Leslie
That’s actually a smart idea. I’ll give that a shot. Thanks again!
I’ve got the same car and didn’t realize the screen could go bad like that. Mine isn’t like a phone screen — you need to press on it a bit harder. Haven’t had issues though.
One thing to try: use the arrow buttons on the steering wheel. I use those while driving since touching the screen directly isn’t allowed where I live.
