Secondary collision brake system malfunction

I wanted to share this with you all to help save you some time. About 6 months ago, I took my car to the dealer. Since then, my check engine light has been intermittently coming on and off seemingly without reason. Typically, it would turn off after a couple of days, only to reappear during acceleration. Coinciding with this, the secondary collision brake system malfunction warning also activated. The diagnostic code retrieved was P010515, indicating a MAP sensor failure. I intended to replace the sensor myself but couldn’t locate it under the hood despite repeated attempts. During my tenth search, however, I noticed a broken vacuum line on the air intake hose, which seemed to have been damaged when they checked my air filter. While unsure of its exact connection, I suspected it might affect the MAP sensor. I ordered a replacement air intake hose and temporarily repaired the broken line with glue. After 4-5 starts, both the check engine light and the secondary collision brake malfunction light turned off.

It’s fantastic that you were able to resolve the problem with your car. The broken vacuum line on the air intake hose could compromise the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor since it impacts air pressure measurements. You most likely rectified the issue by replacing the air intake hose and repairing the broken line. If the lights remain off consistently, it indicates that the repair was effective. Keep an eye on it, and if any other difficulties emerge, don’t be afraid to seek professional help.
