If you can spare the trunk space, a full-size spare is the way to go.

Doesn’t the trunk already have a space for a spare?

The original poster mentioned that because of the battery placement, the space might be too small for a full-size spare. I went a little overboard and keep a full-size in the trunk and a donut in the regular spot.

I could Google this, but why is a full-size better than a donut?

When I went to Discount Tire, the full-size was actually cheaper than a donut, so I just went with that.

A full-size spare doesn’t have speed or distance limits. Donuts are usually rated for 50 miles at a max of 50 mph. If you’re in the middle of nowhere, a full-size is way better.
